Foam Roller Spinal Extension

Instructions

  • Lay down on the foam roller with the roller positioned towards the bottom of your neck and top of your back, 
  • Stay relaxed
  • Hands are just on the floor or can be on the stomach.
  • Start to move backwards so the foam roller will roll down your spine.
  • Keep your glutes on the floor.
  • Let your head relax towards the floor as much as possible
  •  Think about letting your body, your torso drape over the foam roller.
  • As you move down, look for are any areas of tension or tightness there.
  • When you find that area. try to increase extension by:
    • Inhaling and try to drape further on the exhale to open that area,
    • Raising your arms up over your head,
    • Do some small roles on those areas.
